bonanza coffee heroes

this is the best coffee in berlin, i swear! the big, flashy machine they use is a special import from seattle (i'm not joking here, it's true) and their coffee truly is a form of art. most aromatic, not a trace of bitterness or acidity in any cup that gets served here. alongside your coffee you can have a slice of new york cheese cake or cookies or carrot cake from barcomi's (and that's the best cheesecake in berlin, no doubt about that). most of the time, there's also a copy of gourmet magazine hanging around, in case you're coming by yourself and fancy something to read. bonanza's is tucked away at the far end of oderberger straße in prenzlauer berg. you could go after a stroll down kastanienallee of after visiting the flea market on arkonaplatz (which is a 5-min walk from here).

don't let my outburst of superlatives keep you from checking out this place. seriously.

find it on oderberger straße 35, 10435 berlin (prenzlauer berg), phone 0178-1 44 11 23

NEW OPENING TIMES: open daily, mo-fri 8.30-19.00 h, sat-sun 10.00-19.00h

We are going to the fleamarket on Arkonaplatz on Sunday and this is just what I want afterwards.

@ jeannette: oh, i hope you have a lovely weekend discovering new places :) come to think of it, the flea market sells a lot of midcentury to seventies things, not so many really old things like the 17th of june (or french fleas). hope you like it anyway.

@ i've seen a very old-fashioned coffee-roaster in their shop. i'm on a mission to find out for you if they sell the beans only!

@ polly and lisa: thank you, have a great weekend, too!

I've never tried it, because I don't make it there. I always end up at Kauf Dich Glücklich, trying their new ice cream (Milchschnitte is my fave at the moment) or eat a delicious waffle...
