hamburger bahnhof: museum for contemporary art

berlin has plenty of places for contemporary art, but the arguably biggest of them all is hamburger bahnhof, a former train station that houses the museum for contemporary art. unfortunately though, over the past few years, not much of the museum's various collections has been on display and since the museum doesn't have a permanent collection, you were quite often better off heading to other galleries in town. this is about to change, it seems. the museum has been appointed a new director who is presenting the museum's amazing collections in a new way. after tomorrow's big opening the show, titled die kunst ist super! (art is super!) will be open to the public and run from saturday, 5 september 2009 until 14 february 2010. can't wait to check it out!

when you visit, don't miss out on the fabulous bookshop. i've helped out there over the summer months, so trust me when i say it's an amazing selection of books they have in stock. be inspired!

the museum's café is run by celebrity chef sarah wiener. when the sun is out, sit out on the terrace and watch the boats on the river spree go by.

find it on invalidenstraße 50-51, 10557 berlin mitte (very close to berlin main station!), open tues-fri and 10.00-18.00, sat 11.00-20.00, sun 11.00-18.00, mon closed.
